Ayreon - The Final Experiment Special Edition

Arjen Anthony Lucassen is a Dutch multi-instrumentalist who in 1995 released an album called Ayreon, the first of a very successful series of rock operas featuring many international guest-musicians. Ayreon is Arjen's main project, but he also works on various side-projects like STAR ONE and AMBEON.

'The Final Experiment' is Arjen Lucassen's first rock opera. The full title is 'Ayreon: The Final Experiment' with no band-name given. Later on the label suggested the name Ayreon would be used for any similar projects by Arjen.
"The story begins with a prologue in 2084: earth isn't a nice place to be anymore and the majority of humanity is dead. Scientists have developed a computer program, 'Time telepathy', which enables them to send images of wars, disasters, etc. back in time, hoping that people would learn from them and choose for a different future. It's the last possible way to survive and therefore it's called 'The final experiment'. Ayreon, a blind minstrel, in ‘Act I’, is receiving the images. Of course he doesn't understand at first, but slowly he starts to realize that he's seeing images from the future. In his village however no one believes him and he even gets banned from the village. In 'Act II' he arrives at Camelot, King Arthur's court, where is appointed as a minstrel. After a while he sings there about the images - 'Act III'. Merlin, the court's magician, doesn't believe Ayreon and thinks he just wants to attract people's attention. In 'Act IV' he is turning the court against Ayreon and casts a spell on him. Whether Ayreon dies or not is in fact not revealed. Later on Merlin has a vision from which he concludes that Ayreon was right after all and he foretells that Ayreon's story will be told in the 20th century. And that is in the form of this CD."
It had always been a dream for Arjen to make a Rock Opera and with “The Final Experiment” he was given a chance to make one. In 2005, 10 years after the first release of “The Final Experiment” Arjen decided to re-issue the album. Together with the album CD now comes an acoustic bonus CD containing 9 tracks. Great addition to the fist release! I would say that “The Final Experiment” is good, but not really great, but you can hear on this album already where his third studio album “Into The Electric Castle” would take him. To a higher surface!
Maybe it’s not fair to rate this album having started with AYREON’s “Into The Electric Castle”, because I didn’t know AYREON yet back in 1995, but comparing this album with “Into The Electric Castle” it’s hard to give “The Final Experiment” a 5 star rating. I think the 5 star rating must go out to “Into The Electric Castle”.

Zoom
Let your images really come to life. Zoom your images to your heart's content from small to big, from big to
small or with any number of steps in between. In contrast to competing products AquaSoft Living Photos lets
you have full control over zooming. You decide when, where and how much is zoomed. Other programs offer a
handful of preset paths for zooming. With AquaSoft Living Photos you are the stage director and the program
listens to your wishes.

Camera pans
Is a certain section of an image especially dear to you? Then why don't you just magnify this section? The
section can float across the image, and even it's size can be adjusted. This leads you to beautiful panoramas
with just a few clicks. Your images of nature will finally receive the attention they deserve.
Camera-Pans are of course just as flexible as the zoom, and can be combined with it easily.

Turns* and rotations*
Pictures, texts, collages and particle objects can fly along a freely defined movement path. Additionally, a
rotation angle can be assigned to each movement mark. So, for instance, you can let a car follow your travel
route or let leaves swirl through the air.

Slideshow Master
Do you want to create fancy slide shows without much effort? Then use the Slideshow Master. It creates
sophisticated slide shows in three easy steps: choose images -> choose music -> choose style. Of course you
can change and individually adjust slide shows created through the Slideshow Master.

Video-Export
To further process and present slideshows they can be exported as high-resolution videos in AVI and WMV*
format. This way even presentations via a beamer in best studio quality can be created.

More than 100 text effects
Boring text effects are a thing of the past. Texts fly through the image as if moved by a ghost. They can move
from and towards all directions. Set the paths on which the letters flow yourself (loops, waves, etc.) or leave
that to the random generator. The letters make their way alone or in groups, combined with zooms or rotations.
When you know all preset effects, start making your own. You can even hand those down to your friends and
family. Simply choose the text effect that appeals to you and you can start.

DVD and (S)VCD
Create with just a few clicks DVDs or (Super)Video-CDs that can be played in typical DVD players. Naturally
with all animations, transitions, music and voice. Just as you designed them on your PC.

Slideshow-CD
Self-starting slideshow-CDs to be played on the PC can also be created with the help of CD-Wizard.These
CDs contain the images in full quality. This way you create spectacular gifts for friends and family in a
twinkling of an eye.

Timeline
Up to now it has been difficult to synchronize images and sounds exactly. With the timeline you receive a new
tool that lets you arrange all objects synchronous, one after the other or shifted against each other. The
timeline shows the exact position in the time flow of your slide show, so that synchronizing of images and
music works accurately to the second.

Simultaneity
Past is the mere one-after-the-other of a conventional slide show. By using the parallel object any number
of objects can be played synchronously or shifted against each other. This way you may let two photos fly
into the screen at the same time over moving paths, while a text animation captures the interest of the viewer.
At the same time the background music fades a little bit, while your spoken comment steps into the foreground
to say what can be seen. The Timeline lets you control these sequences accurately to the second.

IntelliLoad
AquaSoft Living Photos is based on the new IntelliLoad-technology, a intelligent preloading method developed
by our own house. It is used to initialize the next object during internal idle times. This way the show runs
smoothly.

Animation
Aside from transitions AquaSoft Living Photos offers the possibility to set detailed moving paths for objects
like images or texts. This lets photos fly across the screen, if you want, even several at once. Combined with an
8Bit-alpha-channel channel striking effects can emerge. An accurate time control of transparencies is also
possible.

Transitions
There are more than 40 impressive transitions, each of them can be configured in great detail. With the
intelligent random selection hundreds of fantastic screen changes emerge.

Background music
AquaSoft Living Photos manages a play list for your background music. Volume, duration, fade-in/fade-out/
transition can be set for each piece of music. To see when which music will play look at the timeline. Together
with the sound wizard this makes your presentation truly interesting. Add sound with a click of the mouse. If
desired the background music even fades out while you speak.

Collages
Just one image at a time? That was yesterday! With AquaSoft Living Photos you create complex collages from
any images and texts.

Unlimited number of images
AquaSoft Living Photos supports even very large slideshows. The number of images is limited only by the
memory of your computer. On normal equipped PCs 20.000 or more images mean no problem. Together with
structurerd elements like chapters large slideshows can be handled without problems.

EXIF-Data
Did you know, that your digital camera saves information like the capture date in your photos? AquaSoft
Living Photos gives you access to this EXIF-data and can even show it with your images. Just write for
example "%CaptureDate%" in the image description field and the date will appear on the screen.

Alpha channels
Alpha channels (transparency information) are fully supported by AquaSoft Living Photos (PNG-Image).
Create impressive effects, collages with irregular borders or transparencies.

Image editing
With the integrated image editing you can adjust and improve your pictures. Color, sharpness, turn, mirror,
cut and effects - the most important features of an image editor are all inclusive.

Scanning
With the import wizard for scanner and digital camera you get your images onto your computer easily and
comfortably. The wizard automatically takes care of saving and naming the images. You only have to change
the image in the scanner.

Kane and Lynch are undoubtedly one of the most intriguing pairings ever to appear in a game, not only because they met on death row, but also because they have a strong dislike for one another. The only thing that both men have in common as far as we can tell is that they both ended up on death row after having family members die under tragic circumstances. The backstories for Kane and Lynch will be told as you progress through the game, so all that you really need to know at this point is that Kane is an ex-mercenary who's widely regarded as a traitor by his peers, and Lynch is a schizophrenic who may or may not have murdered his wife while not in control of his actions. The two are compelled to team up when, while en route to their respective executions, they are kidnapped by a team of mercenaries known as The Seven and made offers that they can't refuse.

Arx Fatalis, a PC release from Arkane Studios and JoWooD, is a role-playing game that seldom sees the light of day, and is in some regards a massive dungeon crawl. Am Shaegar is on a quest to learn his identity and fulfill an unknown destiny. To that end he will have to improve his skills, improve his weaponry, use his magical abilities, solve puzzles, accomplish a variety of quests and battle a wide variety of foes.

No memory, and from the looks of it, not much of a future. All he knew was that he awoke in a goblin jail cell, almost naked with no idea of whom he was. The prisoner in the next cell gives him a name: Am Shaegar, which basically means someone with no name.

With at least a name that he can respond to, the next order of business is to escape the cell. A wall block wedged between two bars that separate Am Shaegar’s cell from another unoccupied cell is moved and the bars bend to allow the man egress to the empty room. He picks up a heavy bone to use as a club. There is only one guard … then there is none. The adventure begins.

DVDFab Platinum is all-in-one DVD copying/converting/burning software. In just one or two steps, you can copy any DVD to DVDR/PSP/iPod/etc.

What's new:
- New: Brand new user interface
- New: Rewritten DVD structure cleaning module.
a. When copying a range of chapters, the unselected chapters are removed, in "No menus" mode.
b. All unreferenced cells are removed in "No menus" mode.
c. When preserving menus, the unselected titles will not be played. In previous versions, the unselected titles will be converted to empty title and will be played.
- New: Added option "Change DVD playback order" in "Full Disc" and "Customize" mode. You can choose "Jump to first menu when disc inserted" or "Jump to main title when disc inserted".
- New: Added option "Remove annoying PGCs (like FBI warnings)" in "Full Disc" and "Customize" mode.
- New: Added timeout for PathPlayer to avoid infinite loop.
- New: Added more protection info in "Settings -> Info" window.
- New: Added option "Create files in subfolders of output directory".
- New: Added option "Display only forced subpicture" for "DVD to Mobile".
- New: Added option "Split by chapter" for "DVD to Mobile".
- New: Added profile for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, for "DVD to Mobile".
- New: Updated language files.
- Fix: A problem that "Enable PathPlayer" message will be shown again and again.
- Fix: Freeze problem at start of movie on certain standalone DVD players.
- Fix: A/V sync problem when using other DVD converting software except for DVDFab Platinum. - Fix: A/V sync problem in certain cases for "DVD to Mobile", like "Meet the Robinsons".
